Today, I want to talk about my pimple treatment routine—
maybe because I got one today… 😦
I don’t usually get pimples, so whenever I do, I get really stressed out.
Since my skin is usually pretty clear, even one or two pimples are very noticeable.
Especially right before my period, I tend to get a few pimples on my lower face—usually around my lips or chin. — I’m already dealing with cramps and fatigue, and the pimples just feel like the cherry on top T_T
After a few failed attempts and a few scars along the way, I finally found my way to treat them properly.
My Bad Habit

I have a really bad habit of picking on my pimples.
If there’s any pimple on my face, I find it almost impossible to stop myself from touching it or trying to pop it.
And honestly, that has caused more problems than the pimple itself.
Two Types of Pimples I Get
When I do get a pimple, it usually falls into one of two types:

- Pustule Pimple – A “pop-able” pimple (with visible white inside/center)
- Papules Pimple – A swollen, painful red bump caused by clogged pores
Once I figure out which type it is, I treat them a little differently.
Products I Use for pimple treatment
Here are the main products I use to treat pimples:

- Pimple patches – Rael Pimple Patches (Miracle Invisible Spot Cover)
- Q-tips
- Micro Pimple Needles – From Amazon
- A Japanese “pimple eraser” spot treatment – PAIR Acne Treatment Cream
(I shared links of the products that I use at the bottom of this page, just in case! Again, not sponsored!)
For Pop-able Pimples (Pustule Pimple)
These are the ones where you can see the white part inside.
My biggest mistake used to be trying to pop them too early, which often left dark marks/scars on my skin.
Now, this is what I do:
1. First, I put a pimple patch on it right away.
This helps me stop touching it and gives it time to heal or come to a head.
After trying multiple brands, I found one I like and always keep it stocked. It is called Rael Beauty – Miracle Invisible Spot Cover. I believe so far I bought at least 10 boxes of them (and each box has 96 patches.)
One thing I learned is that pimple patches don’t really work unless there’s something for them to absorb—like fluid or an open surface.
So at first, the patch is more for protection and self-control.
2. If the pimple gets bigger and ready in a few days, I very carefully use a micro needle to create a tiny opening, then apply a new patch.
This pimple patch hydrocolloid, so it will help the wound heal better and faster and prevent the wound from leaving scars.
If the white part is clearly visible, I gently release it, use Q-tips to clean the area, and then apply another patch.
Then I just leave it alone and let the patch do its job. I recommend leaving the patch on until the wound is almost healed.
A few days later—it’s gone.
For Painful, Swollen Pimples – Papules Pimple
This type hurts way more.
It gets bigger, more swollen, and doesn’t pop no matter what.
For this kind, I keep things simple:
1. Once a pimple appears, I use a pimple patch, again, mainly to protect it and stop myself from touching it.
2. At night, after my skincare routine, I gently remove any product from that area and apply a thick layer of a spot treatment – I found this product called PAIR Acne Treatment cream made in Japan. I got it at a store called TESO near my house, but it can be purchased on Amazon. I shared the link at the bottom 🙂
Another recommendation is Kate Somerville Acne treatment products. It has a strong smell, but it worked really well.
I repeat this for a few days, and it usually goes away.
Final Thoughts
I’m honestly grateful that I don’t deal with constant breakouts.
But because I don’t, I’ve always wanted to find a way to treat pimples safely—without making them worse or leaving marks behind due to my habit.
If you’ve used any of these products, or if you have your own go-to pimple treatment, I’d love to hear about it. I’m always open to learning what works for others too 🙂
In my next journal, I will be sharing some of the moisturizers I have been using (and loving) for my dry skin.
Thank you for reading my journal. Hope this was helpful to you!
Sincerely,
Hazel 🙂
