Curious about the VT Reedle Shot, but not sure which number to start with?
Start with 100. It’s gentle enough to use every day. Move up to 300 only when the 100 isn’t doing as much anymore.
This post is for you if:
- You want to work on pores and skin texture
- You can’t decide between the 100 and the 300
- You want to know how much it actually stings
If your skin is sensitive, be careful. It could feel too irritating.
If you’ve been on Korean social media at all in the past year or two, you’ve probably seen the VT Reedle Shot.
It was everywhere in Korea. Everyone was posting about it.
But honestly, I was a little scared at first. It’s a serum with tiny needle-like particles in it, so the idea of rubbing that on my face didn’t sound very relaxing.
Then one day, it went on a really big sale on Amazon, so I finally gave in and bought two of them: the 100 and the 300.
I’ve now been using them for almost a year. I’ve gone through two bottles of the 100 and one bottle of the 300, so I think I can finally give you an honest review.
What Is the Reedle Shot?
The Reedle Shot is a serum from the Korean brand VT Cosmetics. It contains very tiny needle-like particles, and the number on the bottle tells you how strong it is.
The higher the number, the stronger it feels. So 100 is the gentle one, and 300 is a step up.
When I was deciding which one to buy, I kept hearing that 100 is the easiest one to start with and gentle enough for daily use, while 300 is usually recommended about 3 times a week.
Reedle Shot 100 vs 300 at a Glance
| Reedle Shot 100 | Reedle Shot 300 | |
|---|---|---|
| Tingling | Very mild. Just a slight feeling | Definitely stings |
| How often | Every day is fine | About 3 times a week |
| Redness | Not much | My face gets red after |
| When I use it | At night | At night |
| Texture | Like an essence, not sticky | Like an essence, not sticky |
| Scent | Fragrance-free | Fragrance-free |
| Best for | First-timers, daily use | When you’re used to the 100 and it’s not doing as much anymore |
Reedle Shot 100
The 100 is honestly very easy to use.
The tingling isn’t strong at all. It’s more like, “Oh, I can feel something.” That’s about it.
I can use it every day without any problems, which is why I’ve already finished two bottles.
If you’re curious about the Reedle Shot but a little nervous like I was, I’d definitely start with this one.

Reedle Shot 300

Now the 300… this one definitely hurts. 😅
But here’s the thing. If you only apply it lightly because it stings, you won’t really see the results.
Don’t just swipe it on like any other serum. Take your time and work it in carefully, especially on areas where your pores are bigger, even if the tingling is a little uncomfortable. (This goes for the 100 too!)
When I do that, my face does get red afterward. That’s one of the reasons I only use it at night (more on that below).

Don’t jump to a higher number, even if your skin feels “tough”
If you’re thinking, “My skin is thick and not sensitive at all, so I’ll just start with a higher number and see results faster”… please don’t. That’s a big mistake.
My husband learned this the hard way. He was so confident because he has bigger pores and thicker skin, so he went straight for the 300 and put it on pretty generously. Let’s just say… it did not go well. 😅
So please, please protect your skin. Start low and move up slowly.
Texture and Scent

Both feel like a regular essence. Not sticky at all, just a normal serum texture.
And both are fragrance-free, which I really like.
How I Use It in My Routine
I use the Reedle Shot at night, not in the morning. Since it’s a serum, it goes right after toner.
- Toner
- Reedle Shot
- A soothing, repairing cream
I really recommend following it with a repairing cream, especially with the 300. At the end of the day, it’s irritating your skin on purpose, so your skin needs something to help it recover.
For me, that’s the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. I put on a generous layer to help rebuild my skin barrier, and then I go to sleep. That way, my skin has the whole night to recover.
Please don’t use it with these
Never, ever use it together with exfoliators or retinol.
The Reedle Shot itself is already giving your skin a lot of stimulation. I don’t recommend adding any other kind of irritation on top of that.
My Results
My pores definitely looked smaller, and my skin texture got smoother.
But this doesn’t happen in a day or two. After using it consistently for about 3 weeks, I could really see the difference.
So if you try it, give it some time before deciding whether it works for you.
Anything I Didn’t Like?
Honestly, no!
It does what it says it does, and I like that the strength really matches the number on the bottle. You know exactly what you’re getting.
I will definitely repurchase it.
Who Should (and Shouldn’t) Try It
- I’d recommend it if your skin isn’t too sensitive and you want to work on pores and skin texture.
- Start with the 100, no matter how tough you think your skin is.
- Move up to the 300 once your skin is used to the 100 and you feel like it’s not doing as much anymore.
- Be careful if your skin is sensitive. It could feel too irritating.

Final Thoughts
I was nervous about trying a serum with tiny needles in it, but after almost a year, it has become a regular part of my routine.
Just remember: start slow, don’t mix it with other strong products, and always follow up with a good repairing cream.
Have you tried the Reedle Shot? Which number did you go with? Let me know! ✨
